Love is something not so easily discussed these days yet it is the foundation to breaking groundless hate. This was something that stuck me at Shabbat on August 10th. The frank discussion over the state of the nation, world, and community is general was refreshing and honest. The willingness of people to see beyond the groundless hate (Sinat Chinam) and look at the solution was needed.
The conclusion was love, understanding, acceptance, and diversity is the core to changing groundless hate. We are all have the ability to share the blessing of ourselves with each other. We need to understand the strength of the heart is greater than these continuing acts against love.
Practice ceaseless love (ahavat chinam) and be ready and willing to be that person that sees the power of ceaseless love and use that love wastefully. Love can only grow when it is done so and groundless hate will lose its strength.
