The Rev. Ryan P. Sirmons serves as pastor. Prior to being ordained and serving this church from September 2013, Rev. Sirmons studied theology at Westminster College at the University of Cambridge, England, while serving as pastor of Little Baddow Chapel, a historic congregational church in Essex, England. A native of Orlando, Florida, he also holds degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy (Class of ’02) and the University of Portsmouth, England. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy in December 2014, but has also worked as a journalist in Mississippi, taught physical education in Naples, Italy, and worked in radar mapping for the Royal Navy. Now clear(er) in his calling, Rev. Sirmons is passionate about locating Christ in the community, especially with those who are most oppressed. He serves as secretary of the Annapolis and Anne Arundel Coalition to End Homelessness, chair of the Chesapeake Interfaith Environmental Group, Vice Chair of the UCC's Chesapeake Association Commission on Ministry, and has been instrumental in coordinating Sacred Conversations on Race among Annapolis-area clergy and Prayer Walks throughout Annapolis. He has also been appointed to serve on County Executive Steve Schuh's Clergy Advisory Council for Anne Arundel County. With his wife, Irish, and infant son, Floyd, he lives in the "Uptown" neighborhood of Annapolis.
